this book won't help - By: S. Stratford, 08 Sep 2006
very poor, sample readings are needed to make this workable to the beginner & none are provided.
Look elsewhere.
An excellant beginners book of rune divination - By: James Wood, 10 Feb 2004
As a beginner, I found this book easy to read with excellent concise information for such a small book. The size of the book has benefits too as It is easy to carry around for reference purposes & fitsin your pocket. I'm not sure if it's too basic for more advanced users but for me it is an excellent starting point.
very good for beginners - By: rigantona48@hotmail.com, 16 May 2001
I have studied runes for several years & thought at first that this book would be a waste of time. It is a very good beginner's book but it can also offer insights unexpectedly to those with more experience. It is practical & very accessible. The divinatory meanings are useful, not always my understanding of the runes, but each person sees them differently. The suggestions for making runes of various sorts are good although some of the tables at the back are a little odd, being more to do with standard wicca than Norse practice. On the whole a very useful book.
A "must have " book for anyone interested in The Runes - By: , 17 Jun 2000
This small slim volume has all the information that a beginner needs to make serious headway into the study of Runelore. It is equally usefull to those with more experience due the remarkable clarity with which the author presents her information. Rune meanings, casts, bindrunes, correspondences & magical rituals are all covered. I have spent double the price of this book on larger publications that provide half the information that Ms. Peschel conveysin this one small volume. Many may balk at her inclusion of Blum's blank rune but even here the author clearly acknowledges that it has no historical basis & that it's use is, like all runic practice, a matter of personal intuition. An invaluable volume for any student of the Runes, you simply cannot go wrong with this book.
A priceless guide to the runes - By: , 08 Dec 1998
This book is perfect & easy. The explanations of runes within its pages are perfect for the beginner as well as the veteran. The refrence tablesin the book for magick works are also one of the best I've seen so far. Though small & compact, this book holds a king's ransomin runic knowledge & no one should pass up the opportunity to get it.
