A wonderful little marvel of a gardening book which features descriptions & lovely photographs of all the plants you could possibly want to identify, buy or just wish to own. Its great for taking outin the garden & identifying what you already have & even better for taking to the garden centre with you to ensure you are buying the correct plant or shrub for your garden type, size, soil type etc.
Brilliant - just buy it, you wont regret it!
An indispensable book for the inexperienced gardener - By: , 10 Dec 2000 This was the first plant book I ever bought, & is still the one I use the most often. It is stuffed full of useful information about must-have plants for the inexperienced (or even experienced!) gardener. Great photos combined with concise descriptions & planting information make this pocket-sized guide a delight. There is also a reference section at the back, with pages of plants to suit different situations, e.g. plants for acid soils, plants for dry sunny walls, plants for damp shade etc.
I started gardening for the first time 3 years ago, armed only with this book & a lot of enthusiasm. I now have a beautiful garden & a large library of plant books, but this little guide is still my 'most-used' reference text. A gem!
