weight loss - By: Janie Doe, 01 Feb 2008
I started Ian's detox on Tuesday, Wednesday morning I had already dropped nearly 2 kg & was not hungry once during Tuesday! I can't believe how much I have lost & although the clear soup is a bit of a strange taste, the other recipes creates some great flavours & I have even made my own houmous & pesto, not only has this book helped me loose weight without being hungry but has also got me enjoying cooking. I should point out I am only slightly over weight & still can't believe how easily the weight has come off (day 4 now & I am nearly 4 kg lighter, if that is all I am happy!!!)
If you don't loose weight through this book I want to know why...
A book for confident cooks? - By: puffpuff, 23 Sep 2006
As my first foray into low GI cooking, it has helpful ideas & approaches, & some quite interesting & useful recipes, but it was rather vaguein somein terms of ingredients, for eg around which cut of meat you should select, so you would need to know this otherwise you might go wrong.

Good book. Some really nice recipes. Follows along the same path as Gillian McKeith's eating plan.
A diet's not just for Christmas - By: Gaz Pacho, 05 Jan 2006
I too have been on a seemingly endless treadmill of crash dieting followed by a slow but steady weight gain. One of the problems was that I was weak-willed. Another, & I'm sure they are complementary, was that there's nothing tasty about salads & bran flakes. Ian Marner shows us here that low calorie doesn't have to mean bland. A little sauce here or a marinade there can make all the difference to food which is good for you, but otherwise pretty unappetising. One complaint is that the portion sizes are on the small side. I know Ian has our best interests at heart but I'm sure he doesn't mean to starve us, so I've just increased the ingredients by 30-40% on most recipes. I'm big-boned & can easily carry this, but others may not be so lucky.
