Highly recommended - By: D. P. Collins, 15 Sep 2008
Having followed lots of 'diets' & failed, I can say this is the best eating plan I've ever used or come across. Very balanced, sensible approach that help you to change the way you choose, prepare & eat food. I have never feltin the least bit hungry, even though I was suspicious of the portion sizes at first - on day 17 I had lost 11lbsin weight, my %fat had dropped a couple of % points too, so it wasn't just fluid loss either.
I feel more lively, have more energy & apparently look 'much better'.
I really can't recommend this book highly enough; at last I have found a sensible approach that really works, & that has changed my attitude to food for life.
Sure I have read this before - By: S. durbridge, 23 Aug 2008
If you are a fan of the food doctor books then just be careful, if you have any old books then this is just the same...save your money & spend it on some diet food from the supermarket
Sack the editor - By: cdstealer, 15 Jun 2008
Although the book is good from the point of eating healthily, there are soooo many mistakes. You are given shopping lists for that weeks meals which misses items & over estimates! Descriptions are incorrect, eg one dinner of chunky veg soup (in the title) was actually instructed to use the tomato & rosemary from the previous day. You also make a stew which you have 2 tablespoons of, but you make enough to feed a family of four. If you buy this book, ignore the shopping list & go through the recipes & construct you own list with the correct amounts.
NOTE: it is stated on the back of the book that it is an amalgamation of the previous titles from the author.
Its a compilation - By: Stella, 27 Mar 2008
The good points about this book are that it is really good value if you haven't already bought any of his books & it is a great diet. It is basically four of his previous booksin one. They are:
-The Food Doctor Diet (introduces "the rules" & includes an excellent 7 day kickstart diet)
-The Food Doctor Everyday Diet (I have so many favourite recipes from this book. Really tasty even if you're not on a diet)
-The Food Doctor Everyday Diet Cookbook (more new recipes)
-The Food Doctor Diet Club (a 30 day diet plan. Good if you like your meals planned out for you. I personally wasn't a fan of this one.)
All these books have really good reviews & I have bought them all - which is the problem...
The bad points: IT DOESN'T TELL YOU THAT IT IS BASICALLY A COMPILATION OF THE PREVIOUS FOUR BOOKS.
They really should have made that clearin the title (e.g Best of the Food Doctor Diet; Food Doctor Compilation) or on the cover so that fans of the author didn't feel like they'd been conned. It would easily have deserved 5 stars if this was done.
It is a good diet & they are lovely recipes for dieters or non-dieters, but it only gets 3 stars because the content wasn't clear.
First foray - By: Mrs. S. Clarke, 07 Mar 2008
This is our first foray into "Food Doctor" world & both my husband & myself have really enjoyed our first few weeks on this plan. We have both lost weight easily & without feeling hungry. Meals have been tasty & interesting. Feels like a 5 star plan - but only gave 4 because this is definately time consuming & the shopping lists led us to buy for the store cupboard - & the week only to find food going off before we got to that recipe! Much more organised now we are on our second -go-round of the 30 day plan & not at all bored.
