How to Teach with Technology - By: AlexBA, 18 Jul 2007
I just read this book - & loved it. I've already done some online courses with these guys (The Consultants-E), which were fantastic, so I was really looking forward to reading this book. It's really practical, & you feel that you can go & try some of these tools like wikis, chat, webquests, blogs etc, with your students, after you read it. I'm going to try podcasting wih my students. It was something I had heard about, but wasn't sure what it was, or how to use itin my teaching - now I do! I really recommend this book for all those teachers out there who want to try & use some fun technology with their students,in the classroom.
Get Wired! - By: TechTeach Asia, 06 Jun 2007
I've worked with technologyin ELT for quite a few years now, mostlyin Asia - so I'm lucky enough to usually be workingin places which have good facilities & fast connections. So this book was a great find for me - packed full of good ideas around most modern technologies, it has a practical & pragmatic approach to their applicationin the classroom.

I knew a fair bit about some of the areas covered (it covers an awful lotin a concise & helpful manner) but I've also learnt a lot about some I hadn't had time to investigate & it's even persuaded me to have a look at Second Life, which is weird & really exciting.

This book would work for all sorts of teachers - from newly-qualified ones with an interestin technology, to more experienced ones just looking to expand their repertoire. The addition of a CD with some interviews from teachers actually using the technologies - as well as walkthroughs of common applications is a real bonus.

Highly recommended!!!
You can't do without it! - By: Brazil Teacher, 29 May 2007
Well, I'm doing Masterin English Teaching herein Brazil & one of the modules for the course is on the application of informaticsin the classroom, so I bought this book expecting to learn a lot more & brush up my technology skills. And I wasn't let down by it, this book has so muchin it's difficult to know where to start, but when you sit down & start to takein all of it you find out that it's easy to use technologiesin the class. The authors have brushed up my confidence for using computersin class & my students are happy now I don't livein the 20th century anymore! Now we start using blogs togetherin class & everyone is publishing their writings. Thank you for a wonderful book!
Fantastic New Book! - By: Shaia Yegane, 20 May 2007
As an English teacher who uses technologyin my class as much as possible I find it really hard to keep up with what's going onin the world. I just got the hang of running a blog when something new like Twitter comes along & confuses me again! Thankfully this book is very good for people like me - you get to learn about all sorts of technology items & how they can integratein the classroom. The best thing is you don't have to be a geek to understand or use any of it, the authors explain everything so well you feel comfortable immediately. I have read a lot of the booksin the ELT world on technology but this is the one I carry around with me now & the one I look at before I plan a class. And also it's great to hear the other teachers on the CDROM talking about technology they use & how they use it, it makes you feel like you're not alone & not the mad one! I can't wait to try everything, but I'm going slowly so I don't miss anything that my students will like. If you like technology this book is a must buy for you.
