One for the Troy/Gabriella fans - By: Mr. P. N. C. Jay, 07 Oct 2008
The final chapter of the current heroes of High School Musical is here. And if the message of the first film was "try new things," & the second was "don't let plans for the future spoil what you have now," this third outing was a combination of both. Some of the Wildcats see the future holding more of what they already do: Taylor wants to be the first black woman American President, Chad wants to be a Redhawk at the University of Alberquerque, Sharpay plans to conquer the world of show biz, & Gabriella has always dreamt of going to Stanford University for a degreein law. But Troy finds that Julliard is considering him for a drama scholarship, along with Sharpay, Ryan, & Kelsi, & a lot of other schools are offering him places. Since opening his heart to Gabriella, he has also found that he really enjoys performing on the drama stage, too. With the prom & graduation & a big spring musical all crowdingin on the group, Gabriella finds that Stanford wants her to come start there earlier than most of the ordinary students. Will she leave East High without even going to the prom? Is Tiara, the English transfer student who acts as a personal assistant to Sharpay, as mousy & naive as she seems? Who will go to the prom, & with which Wildcat? And will all these friends still be allin this together by the end of the book?
Even better, you can guess where the songs for the film will fit, too. It may not take the place of the film, but it's a great way to fill the gap while you're desperately waiting for it to be shown, & to re-live memories, I'd imagine.
