Must have read a different book? - By: Joan Cecil, 01 Jul 2008
I found this book the literary equivalent of looking at someone's holiday photos - lots of them. Admittedly I didn't get past Spain, the style & presentation obviously pleases several people, I found it boring & unreadable.
Exactly what I was looking for - By: Andrew Davies, 12 Jun 2008
This book describes one family's trip around Europe & boy what a journey! This book was exactly what I was looking for; I'm still planning our European trip & I feel a little less daunted at the prospect having read their account. There are loads of hints & tips that are going to be usefulin preparing for the trip & the historical information is a real appetite wetter. There's the unexpected bonus of a website link giving even more information & some stunning location photographs.
A fantastic read! - By: HA Broom-Fendley, 01 Jun 2008
I bought this book to read whilst I planned & prepared for my own extended travels around Europein a motorhome. It is a great read, fabulously descriptive without being overbearing. It has been very helpfulin my plans & I would recommend it to anyone who loves travel & the experiences it brings, whether you are planning a trip like this yourselves or just fantasising about one.
Proof-reading? - By: L. Hutchinson, 10 May 2008
Enjoyed this book; an easy, interesting read of a family's adventures around Europe; but the punctuation errors & spelling mistakes detracted from my enjoyment immensely.
Enjoyable read but not quite what I was looking for - By: A. F. Turner, 15 Jan 2008
My wife & I are planning a 3 month trip to France, Spain, & Portugalin the summer, so I was looking for more travel advice & hints & tips. The book is very readable, & funnyin parts. I would have liked more maps for the individual areas, as I found it hard to relate the different parts of the book to particular areas. It was a worthwhile read though, & convinced me that when we do our trip (in a smaller motorhome), we will definitely attempt to write it up as a guide to others & try & get it published. I would have liked more detail on typical costs & budgets vs actual spend. I suspect we will be on a tighter budget than the authors & will also have a standard poodlein tow.
