Best one so far, great novel - By: Jacko, 09 Nov 2008
As far as thrillers go this was very good. The characters were deep & enthralling, keeping your interest all the way through. There was enough suspense to keep you turning the pages, & plenty of action. If you enjoy Lee Child`s Jack Reacher books then this will please you. I`m a series fan & enjoy Child & Michael Connelly books immensely, if you like that kind of thriller read the `Soft Target` books by Conrad Jones. They are unputdownable!! Back to the review, ten out of ten.
Best one he's written - By: Mr. B. Gray, 21 Oct 2008
I have read all of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series & this is by far the most enjoyable. The plot is a simple game of international cat & mouse with two elite hitmen hunting each other down. Nothing original here except that the pace & intensity of the plot are spot on & this is a real page turner. It really benefits from its pared down plot which is free of gimics & needless subplots like hidden nuclear devices & presidential assasination attempts. Vince Flynn writes simply but has nailed the storyteller's art with this one as the pace never falters. It even has a moral dilemma for a climax which may or may not genuinely conflict the reader. There's a little bit of politicising & ethnic stereotyping but nothing as absurd as Tom Clancy's recent efforts. You will finish thisin a day or two.
Outstanding... - By: Sarah Gooding, 19 Mar 2008
I discovered Vince Flynn while on holiday. The hotel I was staying at had a large pile of booksin the corner of the lounge. I'm very pleased that I picked up 'Consent to Kill' it was a real find. Kept me captivated for two day's. Vince Flynn is a master of his genre, & an author whome I will read again. In the same vain. I picked up 'The Constantine Legacy' by Andrew Towning, & I would most definately read his next Jake Dillon novel when it arrives.
Fantastic, fast-paced thriller - By: O. Doyle, 11 Sep 2006
The first Vince Flynn book I read was `Memorial Day'. My husband picked it up at the airport & had it finished & passed onto me within 2 days. I flew through it just as quickly. When `Consent to Kill' came out I'd no qualms about snapping it up. And just as with `Memorial Day' I was hooked from Page 1.
In this installment of the Chronicles of Rapp the hunter has become the hunted. A Saudi billionaire enlists the help of a Saudi Prince to help him find an assassin willing to kill the infamous Mitch Rappin revenge for Rapp killing his son. What follows is a gripping, page-turning race of intrigue & revenge. I won't spoil the story by telling you what happens but if you've read any of Vince Flynn's books you'll have a fairly good idea. If you haven't read any of Vince Flynn's book then I'd match these books to those of James Patterson where you can't get enough & just keep turning pages until there are no more. If you're into fast-paced thrillers then this is the book for you. My next mission is to get the rest of this series & backtrack to where it all began.
Another page turner - By: Dr John Carpenter, 05 Jul 2006
I discovered Vince Flynn by accident, but immediatly he caught my attention, so much so that I have now bought all his novels. His main character Mitch Ryan is a gun happy CIA agent, & each book contains at least a few shootouts.Butin the same way as Fleming & Clancy something draws you into the story.Don't start this book or any of Flynn's books if you are very busy, as they become very addictive. For new readers it might be a good idea to start with the first book, Transfer of Power, as you can trace this complex character & the American political situation change, with friends becoming enemies, & recurring characters appearing. This isn't to say that each book can't stand on it's own, but to get the full flavour, do yourself a favour. You can usually get the first few books really cheap at stores.
