Where's the mystery? - By: dara_mac_donnacha@hotmail.com, 10 Oct 2001
I was expecting alot more from this book. Maybe thats why I was so disapointed when I finally got my hands on it. First of all, there doesn't seem to be anything new here, if you read the core rulebook, you have probably read the most interesting quotes from the book already. Then there's the fact that the rest of the book seems to be a repetition of these same quotes, but with different words & format. Everything else is a compilation of well known facts - Nosferatu are ugly, stay away from Lupines etc. The book seems to have been pact with pictures as filler.
I was expecting to find out something new about the history of the Vampires, dark secrets & mysteries revealed. Instead I got a repetition of stuff I already knew.
Brilliant! - By: , 04 Sep 2000
This is an extremely good supplement/soruce book. It has all sorts of information useful to you or your players. The content is fascianting, & makes good reading material even if you never play a chronicle. My only problem is that on one page (Malkavs words) a good proportion of the text is invisible (black on black). Apart from this the rest is good
An explanation to the life of Caine - By: , 13 May 1999
The Book of Nod has 3 chapters & an appendix. The 1st chapter is entitled "The chronicle of Caine". It takes you through his upbringing as well as his meeting with Lilith. It also contains his experiences with, for instance, "The Crone", "Zillah" & the 13 clans. The 2nd chapter is called "The chronicle of Shadows". It contains rules about how a vampire must act & all "the 13 commandments". It also contains commandments to each of the 13 clans. The last chapter is called "The chronicle of Secrets". This chapter is structured just like the Story of the Creation: On the first day ... & so on. The appendix tells the reader about slaves, feeding, breeding etc. Behind each chapter there are Notes explaining words, difficulties & links. I can understand why this book is called "The Vampire's Bible". It isin many ways structured as a bible. It also has pictures on everyone of the 134 pages.
