Customer ReviewsWell, thank goodness - By: , 22 Jul 1999![]() As a beginning knitter with no experienced mentor to ask questions of, making the jump from scarves to "real" items was intimidating, to say the least. The patterns were allin another language, & many other books (including those written by Debbie Bliss) often showed beautiful but very complicated patterns. Finding this book was a gift. So that's intarsa! That's how to cable! Best yet, the items made are attractive & useful, so you don't feel like you are doing your homework until the real fun starts. A wonderful resource for those not blessed with an experienced friend to show the way. Very Nice - By: , 07 Jun 1999 ![]() The beginner's projectsin this book are fantastic. They are attractive & don't make you feel like your making an oversize potholder for your child to wear. I do think that the directions are a little brief, but I feel that this is the best book I've seen for beginners. The definitive "how-to" book for knitting. - By: , 11 Apr 1999 ![]() Finally, a really well written & illustrated basic knitting book, complete with great looking projects & lots of decorative stitches to adapt to anything! Consistent with Debbie Bliss' books, the photos are great & the instructions are easy to follow. A must-have book for any knitter, whether they're first learning or experienced -- a great resource!
