If you are new to analysis of survival data this book must be the definitive guide to learning methods involved. The book takes you through non-parametric tests, moving on the the semi-parametric Cox' proportional hazards model, & then to the parametric Weibull model for survival data. Model checking for these models & time-varying covariates are then discussed.

Particularly useful is the final chapter which discusses applications of these methods using SAS, BDMP & SPSS software. The book goes into some detail on issues involved, but it is very easy to fish out the appropriate information quickly. Highly recommended.
