brilliant! - By: ms.glug, 23 Jun 2008
My little boy is only 7 months & he loves it already. He coos & gurgles at the brightly coloured pictures & loves me reading the fabulous rhyming story to him. I'm sure it'll be a firm favourite for years to come.
That different drummer we all want to listen to - By: Randy F., 02 May 2008
For me & my child, this book was a treasure. The story of a giraffe who can't dance until he hears his "own" music, this is a great way to teach your child about differencesin people, & animals.
The illustrations alone are worth the price, & the words catch the children's ears at once. We all dance to a different drummer & that is basically this book's message.
Made me cry.... - By: Mrs. Billi Street, 20 Feb 2008
I bought this book after reading so many good reviews on this site. I couldn't even get through it without crying!!! That may have been an over-reaction but it really is a wonderful story & the illustrations are beautiful. Definitely my favourite bookin my daughter's collection (and let's face it, it's just as important for the parents to love the kid's books as they're the ones reading them out loud every day of their lives!).
We all dance to a different beat - By: A. Marczak, 24 Jan 2008
Giles Andreae is the respectable side of Purple Ronnie, so it is no surprise that this poetry is an instant hit with pre-schoolers. My daughter already has Commotionin Ocean & Rumblein the Jungle (our copies came with a Hugh Laurie CD), so this is another sure fire winner. The illustrations are lush & warm, the story is one of triumph of self-doubt, & it is neither too long nor too short.
A welcome addition to the story shelf.
