Sad Propaganda - By: Bookworm, 07 Aug 2006
I bought this bookin July 2006 following the loss of someone close to me. I desparately sought the promised solace of the book, but was left feeling very disappointed.
The "scripts" ostensibly emanating from the "other side" are quite plainly shameless religious propaganda. They present an unbelievable view of the after-life that is not dissimilar to our experience of earth, even to the extent of alleging that souls livein "houses" with beautiful "gardens" after death. The claim to authenticity is quite insulting, regardless of any intention to comfort. Had this book been presented as a work of fiction, I would not have a problem with it. But it isn't.
Don't waste your time or money on this one.
Beautiful, Simple and Thought provoking - By: , 01 Apr 2006
If you're drawn to reading this book, then don't hesitate - buy it, read it, lend it out!
I have had my copy of this for over ten years, & after 'digesting' it first time round, have read it again at least three times. The interesting thing is, that each time I read it, I get something else, something new from it. 'Testimony of Light' is a beautiful book & would make a great gift for someone who has perhaps suffered the loss of someone close, and/or for those seeking spiritual comfort.
I've lent this book out to a few friends & work colleagues & they've also got something very personal from it.
Like a lot of people, I have a whole library of spiritual/new age books. Perhaps I'm searching for answers, but not sure quite what the question is. 'Testimony of Light' is very different from anything I've read, yet reinforces many of the 'truths' that I've read over the years.
Read it & be inspired.
A Valuable Testimony - By: Capt I. McRae, 29 Jan 2006
This is a very thought provoking book. I began it with a quite sceptical attitude, but gradually came to see it as a very valuable testimony.
Testimony of Light - By: Jonathan Hughes, 19 Jun 2003
I have read many books on Life After Death & this book undoubtedly stands out as one of the best. The basic story is as per the other reviews so I will not repeat it. The main reason I was so impressed with Testimony of Light is that it makes such good sense of the Afterlife & introduces alot of ideas which have come up from other Afterlife communications which I am sure the author could not have been aware of at the time of writing - when you get different sources all saying the same thing you tend to sit up & take notice! If you want to know what happens when you die & why what you do & who you arein this world really does matter read this book!
What it was like dying and my life in heaven, by (dead )nun. - By: , 01 Feb 2002
A remarkable book. simple & convincing as it is surprising. Basically, 2 nuns are friends. One dies. then she contacts the other one (from the other side)and they have this dialogue. She describes what it was like to die & her re-awakeningin heaven, & what goes on there. It's beautiful & not that religious really, & what makes the whlle thing remarkable is that what it contains is not reallyin any accordance with the teachings of the religious order they belonged to!
This book changed my whole outlook on life & death. It answered many questions I had to my deep satisfaction - like i got this satisfying sense of KNOWING rather than just lodging another theoryin the back of my mind. It made things fall into place. I'm glad I read it. Whether you believe it's true or not, it's very interesting, & there are lots of conversations for dinner partiesin it.... Did you know that hell isn't all fire & brimstone but a cold, damp, drab, monochrome world where people are trapped by their own depression, fear & self pity? The bottom line is that when we die we all return to the place which is mostin resonance with our natural character.
Heaven sounds well cool! :)
