wow what a fantastic read - By: M. Willis, 11 Oct 2008
What a fantastic book, I just couldn't put it down, its so hard to imagine that a paramedic has so much to put up with, but also the enjoyment & satisfaction they get from their job,Lysa sounds like a fun, warm person that I would be very honoured if I or any of my family or friends needed a paramedic & Lysa was to turn up on the scene, I reccomend this book to anybody & everybody who ever wondered what every day life is like for a paramedic.Cant wait till the next book comes out.

Gripping - By: S. phillips, 28 Sep 2008
A well written book, which offers an insight into the diverse working life of one of our emergency services. I thought this book was really gripping. The author shows a genuine passion for her work. This is the best book of its kind that I have read. Well worth buying.
A terrific Insight - By: Debbie Hutchings, 08 Sep 2008
My husband heard this book mentioned on the radio & told me about it, knowing that I like biographies & because it had local interest. Having taken '999' on holiday, I finished it within two days unable to put it down. I was quickly gripped by the easy-to-read short stories which give real insight to the work of a female London Paramedic.
The book is written with equal measures of humour, humility & compassion. I laughed & I cried, amazed & awestruck by the kind of things paramedics deal with. How lucky we are, particularlyin London, to have people like Lysa who genuinely care about the incredibly difficult job they do & the lives they touch.
Couldn't put it down. - By: Louise, 03 Sep 2008
What a great book! So easy to read & filled with really interesting sometimes funny, sometimes tragic short stories. Lysa gives a really down to earth account of her life as a paramedic. She describes how she can never know what situation or possible danger she will face at the next call, either working alone or as a team. I particularly found the story called 'The Axeman Cometh' both frightening & hilarious. Working as an A&E nurse I have faced similar situations & can see exacly where Lysa is coming from. A really good read which I bought for my holiday but almost finished it on the first day as I couldn't put it down!!
unputdownable - By: S. wright, 01 Sep 2008
I don't ususally go for short stories, or for that matter biographies but saw thisin the Daily Mail & bought a copy as the extracts left me wanting to know more.
I found this book very easy to read, & hard to put down! In fact it's been responsible for me going to bed later & later the last few nights as i plan to read one or two stories & end up reading five... It's made me laugh out loud & shed quite a few tears - how Lysa manages to go home & run a family with three children afterwards is amazing.
A great insightin to such a valuable job.
