Dead Haunted - By: Philippa Coffey, 12 Jun 2007
In a genre swamped with half baked ideologies & touchy feely 'mumbo jumbo', Whyman deliversin DEAD HAUNTED the easy to read 'Dummies Guide' to the world of paranormal investigation we've all been waiting for.
Stepping away from the 'assumed knowledge'/jargon heavy trap that so many of his peers have fallen into; Whyman explainsin detail the who, what, when, where, why & most importantly 'how' of paranormal investigation, managing to keep the information relevant & interesting to beginner & old hand alike.
Whyman's narrative clearly shows the depth of his knowledge & his passion for his subject matter, not to mention a delightfully quirky sense of humour that, I admit, came as something of a surprise.
Overall, a read worthy of shovingin the Christmas stocking with an EMF reader & a wind up torch!
DEAD HAUNTED - Dead good! - By: Spooks, 10 May 2007
I have just finished reading DEAD HAUNTED by Phil Whyman & thought it was really good. I am just beginning to discover the world of paranormal investigation & after seeing Phil on MOST HAUNTED I thought I would buy the bookin the hope of furthering my understanding of this fascinating subject...and I can honestly say that I was not let down!
I have read other books of this genre & have found them hard going on occasion, using too many complicated theories or jargon. Thankfully, I was able to follow Phils explanations quite easily.
I highly recommend any interestedin the paranormal to purchase this book...as my title says - it's DEAD GOOD!
BUY IT - By: T. Phillips, 10 Apr 2007
Speaking as someone who has been involved with paranormal investigations for over 7 years I have say I enjoyed this book!
Very readable for both those who have experience & those that are new to the subject, Phil Whyman shows an obvious passion for the subject without the obvious 'need to thrill' so often foundin books on the same subject. I did not find his writing arrogant at all - just an obvious enthusiasm to share his experiences & views with everyone.
The book has some great photography & is a highly recommended read.

This book has to be ranked top for me. It has great content, Excellent reports & some interesting theories. Have been a skeptic on this subject & this book opened my mind to theories i didnt know excisted, a definate must for everyone interestedin the paranormal world.
Must add. I found Yvette & kieran's book a bit hard to get into & therefor it's found a new home on the shelf..
Average - By: Sophia, 10 Apr 2007
It was an okay book. Not among the greatest & anyone who has spent time on investigations would find this at an average read.
Mr. Whyman comes across as slightly arrogant at times & speaks as if no one really knows about the paranormal other than those he has worked with.
Paranormal is a personal interpretation and, as a book of his own viewpoint, this is written at a level easy to read for most average investigators. For those who have gone on more than the paid ghost tour, this is probably a bit too easy of a read.
I would recommend Ciaran O'Keefe's book recently released with Yvette Fielding for a more scientific & skeptical perspective that is written for a more experienced investigator.
