A book for the publisher or the reader? - By: Cassandra, 14 May 2008
Not sure what kind of teaching Lynette Allen does, was or is-but I found this so patronising! Sad too, that her first book which was fun & light & practical seems to have just been re-hashed twicein this format ( but not to make easy money for the publisher of course!) I predict that the next book will be for nurses & entitled ' Behind with the bedpans & livingin the day room.'
Come on Lynette-be bold, move on & develop!
Do only women teach???? - By: Insomniac Cat, 12 Dec 2006
I bought this for my overworked, overstressed partner, who re-trained at the age of 41 & is nowin his 2nd year of teaching. The paperwork piles up & he is doing about a 70 hour week. I thought this book might be helpful......
Well, 1/3 was completely irrelevant, talking about 'the woman outside of the classroom'. Male teachers aren't that rare nowadays so why alienate such a huge chunk of your readership? Though this third is mentionedin the write-up, I assumed it would be general life skills, arranging the work brought home, but no! Not relevant at all, I'm afraid.
I'm sure it would be helpful to a female teacher. Now can we have one for the male teachers?
