one to listen to again! - By: C. Watt, 19 Jul 2008
This is the first Doctor Who audio book I've purchased, & the first Doctor Who "book" since my childhood & the time of Peter Davidson.
I was not disappointed by either the story line or the fantastic narrative of David Tennant. There are a few similarities to the recent series 4 story setin Pompei, but to be honest the Stone Rose is a far better idea, though the twist is awfully far fetched. The only problem is it is so compelling you will want to listen to both CDs at the one go - ideal for a long car journey then!

meh.... - By: Rose_Noir, 06 Jan 2008
Interesting - if sometimes difficult to understand plot. I like the twistsin the story, overall I would say it's good, but not brilliant. I think sometimes the Doctor & Rose are a bit on the 'undoctorish' & unroseish' side, but the basic storyline is good.
Rubbish.... - By: big mad doctor who guy, 04 Sep 2007
Yet again, this story is a real let down. It never really gets going, it doesnt keep you engaged & thats all i have to say about it. Jaq Rayner isnt that good a writer at all. Dont like her stlye. But still, the Last Dodo is still to come & will that finally make me think otherwise of Jac? I really hope so....
Good reading, average book - By: Mr. D. Harris, 05 Aug 2007
Did no-one notice the startling similarities between this & the earlier Big Finish 7th Dr audio play 'The Fires Of Vulcan'? Really? No-one? Tennant obviously reads his Doctor well but he tends to fudge or slur some of the words. The story is, as I've intimated, somewhat second-hand & the Rose characterisation is very poor.

By the way, Jacqueline Rayner did NOT write the Dalek episodes for series 3, that was Helen Raynor. Jacqueline Rayner is a better writer than that. Just rushed sometimes.

Helen Raynor was script editor for the first 2 series & did a better job at that than writing...
