Hats off to Tarif Khalidi for producing a clear & at times lyrical translation of this foundational text for Islam. If you're at all interestedin Islam or its central tenets, this is the translation to read. You can appreciate the textin all its subtlety & beauty without an overbearing gloss of interpretation by Khalidi or any one else.
