Having tried so many diets I had given up & when I opened this book I thought..here we go again..someone else just writing a book to make money....but this is so different. My advice..don't promise yourself anything, don't do itin a rush..just read it & take it in. With diets you have to fix a time to start & at the first chocolate biscuit you feel you have ruined it & may as well give up..this is not a diet..no pressure to start or end or even do all of it..just do what you can..but I tell you this..after a few days of reading I started changing things on my shopping list & after one week I felt so much better, after 10 days I was a kg lighter, after 2 weeks I was 3kg lighter, have so much more energy & feel so much better about life & this is just reading a chapter a night & without dieting & without exercising. My sister wants a copy, my daughter wants to borrow my copy & I am ordering for friends.

I've read many, many diet & 'way of eating' books. I even lost weight on some of them (over 50 lbs on Atkins). I have an extensive *theoretical* knowledge of what I should be eating to lose weight. What Marisa Peer gives is motivation - how to eat, & why.
I recommend this book most highly to those people who are fed up of being overweight & want to do something about it, but are unable to start. This book will give them an impetus to begin shedding excess weight. Yes, there will be some effort involved, and, most importantly, making choices. But the rhythm of the book, together with the hypnotic CD, will help with going through the changesin eating & feeling.
I've witheld one star as there's not enough information on what exactly we should be eating. I understand the reason for that, but I feel I need more inspiration when it comes to healthy food. I'm finding Ian Marber's The Food Doctor & Gillian McKeith's You Are What You Eat plans useful for that.

Having spent many years trying to lose weight on every diet imaginable I had finally hit an all time low. Depression fed my weight gain & weight gain fed my depression. A never ending circle of misery. Might sound extreme but that is what I was, extremely unhappy. And as a result of all my weight loss attempts I was 3 stone heaver than when I began! I had all but lost hope & was looking into hypnotherapy, boot camps, surgery etc. the only thing holding me back was the cost, they're all pretty expensive & to be honest I didn't feel worthy of spending all that money on me, on something I was yet again going to fail at. When one day my beloved dropped me an email, with a link to Marisa Peer's book to have a look at. Having read all the positive reviews I was sure this was worth the £6 it cost, even if it didn't work for me. I ordered it at 7pm then, thanks to the wonders of Amazon I had itin my mitts by lunch the following day. It took me a couple of days to read it, squeezing itin around work & family. Everything she said made sense to me, like the other person who commented on here, I was a little dubious about cutting out food groups considering this wasn't a "diet" as such. Needless to say I carried on through the book with an open mind; I then listened to the CD before going to bed. The next day was Sunday, a weekend was always a blow out with chocolate & wine etc but I decided not to put it off any longer & that's when I started. It had all sunkin & I was ready to go. That was one week ago now & I have lost 10 pounds!!! I am a self confessed chocoholic & drank wine almost every night to relax, I haven't touched chocolate or alcohol & it doesn't bother mein the slightest. In fact I've just baked chocolate cakes with my son & couldn't be more indifferent. While my other half is glad he recommended the book (and as he has pointed out I am foreverin his debt!) he isn't so pleased about the things I come out with when he's having a drink of milk or eating his absolute favourite thing, cheese!
I honestly think this book has changed my life. While I have been sticking to this by the letter (without even having to try!), I'm surein time I may become more relaxed with it & introduce a little alcohol or a nibble of chocolate here & there on special occasions.
This book may not be everyone's cup of tea, for those who have tried absolutely everything out there. Buy this book. For those who haven't tried everything, save your money on meetings, food packs etc & spent £6 on something which works! Your mind controls everything, change your mindset & you'll change your life. I can't recommend the book enough!

I by chance came across marisas peer from a channel 4 programme & she & the book have changed my life ,dont ask me how reading the book works but it does I have tried every book every diet you can name,with no affect but this book is different.
Since reading it I have lost 20Lbs ,and its been so easy & I have only wanted to eat healthy food & even though I have a lot of weight to shed, I will get there. My 26 year old daughter has found the same & has also lost 2stone ,all you large people out there give it a try what have you go to lose .
