This is an excellent pocket-sized guide to a very beautiful & vibrant country. The chapters each cover a main region to visit (split into Port Louis, Central Mauritius, South Mauritius etc.) & include all the must-see places, many of which are not on the usual tourist trail. Unlike most other guides it's alsoin full colour with lots of pictures so you get a real feel of what awaits you. The guide only covers Mauritius & not any of the other nearby islands such as Reunion & the Seychelles, which are separate travel destinationsin themselves. The map included is also very useful as local maps, where you can actually find one, can be very inaccurate or out-of-date - the locals don't need them with Mauritius being such a small island. Allin all well worth the investment.

This book gave us all the information we needed, with details of the best places to visit on the island, & the best restaurants to visit. As this was our first visit to the island, we found this book extremelly useful, & we would not have enjoyed ourselves anywhere near as much without it. Thoroughly recommended for anyone travelling to Mauritius for the first time.

I have yet to sample the delights of the Island but reading this very good guide makes me want to be there now. It is well presented, clear & colourful. The advice was succinct & to the point & also spends time on the surrounding Islands & how best to travel to them. This will be my mentor when I go therein January. The contents of this guide will stand me in good stead.
