The genuis that is Eddie Izzard! - By: smilingmad@aol.com, 24 Feb 2001
What can I say? Eddie Izzard not only has conquered the comedy world but now has done the same with the acting world. He is one of Britains greats. His humour works world-wide, & its still hilarious if you can't see him. His surreal style comes acrossin his voice & storys. Yes, his actions & body language add to it but it still works without, where as for many comedians it doesn't. Dress to Kill is one of my favourite shows, & now I can experience two versions of this show. This tape was recorded on a seperate night to the video so the material is slightly different. Same plots but different ad-libs, which are what makes Eddie way of performing great. This is a must have for all true Eddie fans. It's brilliant, side splittingly funny, surreal, & just pretty damn groovy!!
More Classic Live Izzard - By: , 18 Jun 2000
Another great Eddie Izzard live show, this one recordedin New York during the "Dress to Kill" show. Eddie discusses the lack of make-upin the armed forces, British films (including "The Great Escape"), The origin of the Heimlich Manouvere, Church of England Fundamentalists ("You will have tea & cake with the Vicar or you die!"), Astronauts, The European Union, Welsh pagan stone circle builders, Engelbert Humperdink & much else,in his own inimitable style.
Great for listening toin the car. Some extra material over the video version of the show, too, which makes it worth having.
Eddie Izzard - A Man Of Infinite Jest - By: , 18 May 2000
I've been a fan of Eddies since the Fortnightly Club & to finally get the full life story of the man himself was nothing short of a treat, but even if you aren't a fan of Eddie's or even (shock horror) haven't heard of him then theres still plenty there, this book is VERY readable & you can't help but admire Eddie & chuckle at his bizarre thought process .. allin all a top read ! Eddie was even kind enough to sign it for me ..
The magnificent Eddie Izzard at his Amazing best - By: , 24 Mar 2000
I was a bit sceptical of this book, but I've been converted. Izzard is a comedy genius, & this comes throughin the book. Not just a simple biography, it gives people an insight into his world(and what a world it is). Unlike most books, it doesn't just talk about things that are already common knowledge, but hits upon his early lifein a funny but touching way. This is not just a book for die-hard fans, its universal. Any true fan of comedy needs this book if only to place under table legs.
Eddie Izzard has truly made it from the garden shed & become a household name.
