Hobsons choice - By: TunWells, 17 Aug 2010
As this is the only strip map available it is difficult to faultin its usefulness. However, it is a poor guide as there are so many options. Lack of NGR make it difficult to pinpoint your location. Used to support a large event & it was necessary to refer to OS maps for any detailed location information.
What would be really useful is a larger scale - linked to OS - with access shown for walkers / cycles & motor vehicles ( yes emergency vehicles do need to know where they can quickly reach any off road areas)
In summary useful but could be much better

Bought this for my dad & he has used it & had nothing but good things to say about it. It must be good.

Great map & info. All you need for a detailed C2C journey with all alternative routes & stopping places!
A must have for C2C - By: J. A., Mcdonald, 09 Jun 2009
Just done the c2c, every couplein our party had their own route mapin case we got seperated - which we did. You can get by without the C2c guidebook but the route map is essential for reference. Describes the routein detail but beware if you stray off route as the map only covers a small area to get everything in. Would have appreciated ordance survey map when we went off road, as we took wrong turn & needed more information C2C map had on it. In summary the sea to sea route map is recommended for anyone interestedin the c2c.
Useful, but many live without - By: Mr. R. G. Brown, 04 Jun 2009
It is possible to undertake the C2C route without the map, as it is very well signposted from Whitehaven to Sunderland, however, for the price, it is well worth having to refer to throughout the trip.
The map is split into sections of the ride, rather than one full map, showing the route & mile markers whilst displaying the off-road & alternative sections. I would however recommend that you research which off-road parts to undertake (you can do this with the C2C guide on the internet), as some of the routes marked on the map are not possible to cyclein any direction (as we found out to our cost).
