Works like a Dream! - By: A.A, 01 Mar 2007
When it arrived i popped it onto my MP3 player, & fell asleep listening to it that night. I hadn't really wanted to quit immediately, to be honest i didnt think it would work, so i just wanted to see what it was like. the next day i went to work & tried to smoke a cigarette out of my car window, it felt wierdin my mouth, & while i was listening to the radio - i absent mindedly threw it out of the window after one drag!! couldn't believe it!!
got to work & didn't crave all morning. Out of habit, i went to the smoking room during my break & again unsucessfully tried to smoke, but put it out after nearly choking! at lunchtime, again i went down to the smoking room out of habit, but because i was engrossedin conversation with my friends i didnt even light up & went back upstairs without even thinking of smoking, even though i was sat with smokersin a smoky room! very wierd. When i went home i went to the garage to get petrol - usually i get a pack of 20 as well, but when the bloke behind the counter asked me if i wanted them, i told him i didnt smoke without even realising what i was saying! & i havent smoked since - its now three months. Well worth it =- AND NO WEIGHT GAINED!! WOOHOO
Do you want to stop smoking? - By: Zobiana, 10 Feb 2007
Having smoked for many years I found it very difficult to give up smoking. The problem wasn't stopping, it was the cravings that drove me mad! I have tried other quit smoking cds but they didn't really stop the cravings. After using this cd for a week, I haven't touched a cigarette. I have no cravings even when I smell smoke near me, which used to be one of the craving triggers. In fact I now dislike the smell of smoke & can't wait until all public places will be smoke free on 1st July 2007! I am also eating more healthily, exercising & losing weight rather than puttingin on! I can't recommend this cd highly enough but you must put 25 minutes aside & listen to it daily. Try it, you only have a few pounds to lose & everything to gain.
So you want to smoke? - By: Chris Robin, 05 Jan 2007
Hypnotism can be very effective. I know a number of people who have had good results. Listening to this CD, however, is nothing close to real practical treatment. it has some basic information on such things as breathing techniques to cope with stressful situations, & dealing with social triggers, which are padded out with spacey music, countdowns & breathing exercises. The CD might not so useful for those who enjoy a guilty solitary smokein the evenings. But if you are freely willing to spend an hour of your life listening to distracting electro-pop synth sounds, & an incessant voice nagging you to "go deeper", then your desire to quit must already be strong, & listening to this CD may well consolidate your resolve.
Not that good - By: A Reader, 05 Dec 2006
I bought this CD because of the great reviews on Amazon however did not find it effective myself. Was nice listening to it as i drifted off to sleep as it is relaxing. Listening to it every night helped provide additional motivation & support, but did not help me give up smoking. I found reading Alan Carrs book worked for me.
INCREDIBLE - By: Janis Hedley, 30 Sep 2006
I was a 20 a day smoker for 37 years & wasn't even trying to give up as I thought it was a waste of time, I tried 3 timesin all those years, the longest I gave up for was 3 months, nicotine demonsin my head would get the better of me. However, I was interestedin self hypnosis & thought I would give it a try. Even when I got the CD the smokerin me was reluctant to listen to it but I downloaded it onto my iPod & stuck on the head phones when I went to bed & fell asleep listening to it.
When I woke the next morning the first thing I normally do is have a cup of tea & a cigarette. I had the cup of tea but when I thought about a cigarette a voice said "I don't smoke". The whole day went on like that. Even at lunchtime when the demons told me to have a fag, I took out the packet I was carrying with me, justin case, calmly took out a cigarette, sniffed the whole length of it & put it backin the packet. I giggled to myself. If I had been going cold turkey I would have had that cigarette. I've only stopped for a couple of days but it's been absolutely effortless so far & I covered the cost of the CD already by not buying fags & it's a giggle!
