Really Comprehensive, covers alot - By: Mrs. K. Thomson, 01 Nov 2006
great book as it covers not just Verona but some of the cities & towns nearby, like lake garda. There was so much backround history about the area, which is quite good when most of the signs arein italian, french & german! Also has an excellent section on restaurants & cafes, again not onlyin Verona but the surrounding areas. We had such a great time with this book, as we passed it between us saying "do you know that...?" as we went round some of the placesin the book. Its also great to syche yourself up before the trip.
Fantastic little book - By: , 25 Nov 2003
I just took this book on holiday & it was fantastic, the book & the holiday! Great ideas for a whole range of things to do making a long weekend seem like not enough time to do everything. Plus the history & background sections make great reading on the plane on the way home so I felt I learnt something about where I was too. As there are no other books on Verona it's great to have such an excellent book as the one to choose.
One Book of Verona - By: , 25 Nov 2003
Since there's really nothing else available about this excellent Italian cityin English, this should wipe the board. Luckily it's also a very good guidebook, small & pocketable but packed full of useful & interesting information. We found some great little restaurants from it. Amazon's blurb says it covers Padua, which it doesn't, but there's good bits on Lake Garda & Vicenza which are both good day trips nearby.
