Weirdly laid out travel guide- By: YMO, 31 Jul 2008 This was the first Michelin Guides I've ever bought - never again! How weird to lay it outin alphabetical order. Yes, you can find the places easily from the mapin the book but it's difficult to find the place on the map from the text. You can't orientate yourself to see what isin the locality of any given place because of the alphabetical layout. I'm used to the Lonely Planet, Rough Guide & other guidebook layouts where the entries makes topographical sense & you get a sense of location. It kicks Lonely Planet into the weeds.- By: M. Summerfield, 01 Jul 2008 These Michelin guides are indispensable for travelin France. The accommodation & food recommendations can be a bit off target (a restaurant or B&B can change quickly) but the village-by-village, town-by-town detail listedin easy A-Z format gives you information that doesn't really date, & gives insight to a world of beautiful backwaters that may otherwise be missed. A real key to France. It kicks Lonely Planet into the weeds.
