Eragon - By: Amy J. James, 28 Jan 2008
2-3 years ago I was browsing the selvesin the public library looking for some chunky fantasy to kill my spare time on. I didn't think for one minute that I was checking out something that would keep me so on the edge of my seat & have me practically obsessed with checking for release dates of Eldest & now Brisingr. The trilogy has been amazingly un-put-downable so far & I class it as totally unmissable for any fantasy/dragon/adventure/quest enthusiast out there. Read this!!!
Just a question... - By: B. Jensseter, 09 Nov 2007
Why on EARTH is this version of the book so expensive? I know one of them is signed by the author & it costs £1.700 (Which is hugely overpriced)But why does the other ones cost so much?
Oh, right... The book was great!

If you enjoy dragons, fanatasy & adventure then you NEED to read this book.
It's very gripping; a real page turner. The characters are fanatastic, & Eragon is a great hero.
Read the book before you watch the film; the book's way better, & seeing the film might spoil the wonderful experience that you get from reading the book.
If you liked books like The Saga of Darren Shan, Wolf Brother, Percy Jackson or The Bartimaus Trilogy, then you must read this.
Get over it! - By: Gibbo, 08 May 2007
Yes i acknowledge that Eragon contains bits & pieces from other stories, but the fact that you are sad enough to READ a star wars book is just unimaginable. I tried to read a star wars book once, i read one page & lost what was happening! That's how confusing it is, if you like fantasy read this book, but if your sad enough to read a star wars book & enjoy it then don't even bother to try & read it & then write a review about it! *Sigh* Eragon is a compelling book & grips you from the start if you're impatient then you will struggle because there is a lot of travelling. There are flaws within the book but nonetheless they make no actual difference to the story. Unless you're a sad act idiot who enjoys star wars books! Well i think i've taken out my rage on the keyboard!
great story, not so great writing - By: HChaker, 09 Jan 2007
This is definitely not better then the Harry Potter series. You cannot compare the writing. JK Rowling is by far the more superior writer. But, I cannot say that both Eragon & Eldest are not fantastic stories. Paolini is young & his writing shows it. Much of Eragon seems to have been written by a high school student which is not surprising, as he was just 15 when he began the story. What is surprising is that he didn't get a better editor. A good editor could have made the difference -- this could have been great literature & not just a great story. Paolini could be a Tolkein or Rowlingin the making - but only if he gets some good tutelage & listens. I would love to see his writing mature ... if it caught up with his imagination, he would indeed be phenomenal!
