Easy to read and follow - By: Ian D. Nutt, 04 Sep 2008
The wonderful thing about The Master Key is it's concise dialogue. I have read many booksin this genre & most seem rather drawn-out. Haanel's approach is to the point. 24 chapters, each of less than a dozen or so pages. Each chapter commences with a summary of what we can expect from it, with the next few pages explaining the exercisein easy to apply detail. A summary of what we have learnt ends each chapter & we are advised to read that chapter several times before moving onto the next. There isn't a superflous wordin it. Hits the mark 100%. If this book was the only bookin a schoolchild's desk they could go straight to the topin life!
The REAL master key - By: Friendlycard, 24 Aug 2008
In the introductory biography which precedes Haanel's work, the publishers highlight at least one reason why you might want to read this book:
"It is Silicon Valley's secret that almost every entrepreneur who made a fortunein recent years did so by studying the words Mr Haanel penned over eighty years ago....Since this book was no longerin print until recently, copies of The Master Key System became a hot commodityin the Valley".
Now I've no way of knowing if this statement is true, but such is the power of Haanel's system that it seems eminently plausible. I would not for a moment want anyone to think that Haanel presents some kind of 'cosmic ordering'-type, 'get-rich-quick' system, & neither is it a book about Law of Attraction. It is far deeper, & more important, than that. Haanel claims that his system can revolutionise your life. I've been working with this kind of system for years, & am emphatically convinced that it works.
At the heart of Haanel's approach is an analytical thesis that was pioneered by Thomas Troward (to whom Haanel refersin this book). Essentially, this thesis is that the universe is governed by an overarching creative process.
Haanel calls this "Universal Consciousness"; Troward called it "Spirit". Neither refers to "God", because the Universal Mind that they describe is an essentially impersonal, 'subjective' force, equivalent to the subconscious rather than the consciousin the human mind. It is more akin to a highest law of nature - a law of creativity - than to a deity. It is impersonal. You do not worship it, but you align your approach with it. Haanel's term "Universal Consciousness" is probably more apt than Troward's "Spirit" because the latter might carry connotations of the occult (though that was certainly not what Troward meant).
Haanel argues that everyone's subconscious is a part of the Universal Consciousness. This gives the individual access to great creative power,in any aspect of life. Anything that manifestsin your external world, Haanel argues, has been manifested firstin the inner world of your mind. The trick, therefore, is to learn how to discipline your inner world -in other words, to channel your thinking - so that inner creation is positive.
His method, originally published as a part-work, is to set out twenty-four stages of study, each including a mental exercise. Each chapter contains a list of numbered, very precise propositions. This is a very effective, very focused approach.
If you are sceptical about the idea of a universal creative process - & do not believe that thought drives the material - you are not going to like The Master Key System. But if you accept a Troward/Haanel-type analysis of cause & effect, you will find The Master Key System an extremely powerful & effective tool.
Beware James McGovern as you would any opinionated source... - By: T. E. Woodward, 05 Aug 2008
There are those who seek & enjoy seeking - & there are those who are so locked into this manifested world they couldn't seek their elbow...
There is nothing wrong with this book that common sense will not allow you to edit whilst reading. All you need to recognise is that you are seeking - read, devour & move on - until something resonates with your soul & turns you on to something you wouldn't have found if you hadn't been a seeker. When you read 'your' truth it will fill you with a feeling of love - just like recognising an old friend. Hard work & keeping your nose down whilst living the life circumstance has dealt is not for all of us...there is much, much more, but likewise don't forget to live the life you have whilst you seek the life you desire :-)

Pseudoscientific wishful thinking! - By: James McGovern, 16 Feb 2008
If you're looking for a book to help you achieve anythingin life, don't get this. Despite a couple of good points (such as not to be selfishin life - do you really need a book to tell you this??), the basic idea of this work, set forthin twenty-four "lessons", is to simply think good thoughts & imagine all the things you want mostin life. Apparently, the author assures us, these thoughts will "objectify" & bring us those dreamsin the real world via the "Law of Attraction", which the author alleges has been scientifically proved. He also claims, rather arrogantly, that even bodily diseases & ailments can be healed by "correct" thinking. Needless to say, this is all utter nonsense. Of course we should all be optimistic, but that alone will not make your dreams come true!
Instead of what isin this book, here is some basic but actually much more useful advice for everyone: if you're feeling lonely, find a wondrous person to love. If you're looking for successin a career, work hard to achieve it. If you're ill, see a doctor & live as healthily as you can. If you want to be wealthy, you should start by saving your money & not buying this book!
If manifestation is your quest - By: S. Cooney, 01 Jul 2007
This book was so far ahead of it's time.
Is the process of manifestation is your quest?
If so, yes, the wording can sound old-fashioned but I believe that each book written by a knowledgeable author can still hold the imprint of that original wisdom. I found the book to be still alive. A valuable resource.
