Hit and miss audio stories - By: William Roberts, 26 Feb 2004
These two CDs provide a number of stories, two of which are very well known - the selfish giant, the happy prince. However, the lesser known stories are dark & have negative story lines which depressed ny children, particualrly the stiry of little Hans, who loses everything, including his life, to an unscrupulous neighbour. The reading is uliftedin parts by some excellent characterisations, particularly the rocket story. The two famous stories are good, but not worth the price of thee entire collection.
The happy prince was a moving tale. - By: , 07 Aug 2001
The happy prince was my favourite book when I was little & still is now. It is about a statue of a prince that died & he is always happy, one day a sparrow fellin love so didn't set off to Egypt with his fellow friends, when he set off later than the rest, he got tired & stayed under the statue for shelter. he notices the prince is crying & the prince tells him because he sees the poor & poorly people, so the sparrow helps the prince to try & make these people happy. I enjoyed the book & find it a moving tale.I recommended this book to all ages.
